Even the most hopeful Ipswich Town fan will struggle to convince themselves that their beloved Tractor Boys will survive in the Premier League beyond this season.
Kieran McKenna’s side is now nine points adrift of 17th-place Wolverhampton Wanderers, with five heavy losses in their last six league games doing little to lift the spirits at Portman Road.

Former Ipswich defender shines elsewhere
One player who has flourished away from Portman Road is former defender Adam Webster. After a low-key start in Suffolk, Webster made a name for himself and later earned a move to Brighton and Hove Albion in 2019 for £20m, becoming their most expensive signing.
Despite ongoing injury issues, Webster has shown himself to be a solid Premier League defender, with two clean sheets from just 11 appearances this season.
Meanwhile, at Ipswich, Luke Woolfenden, despite making two more appearances than Webster, has only managed one clean sheet under McKenna’s tenure.
Webster’s rise in value
Webster’s journey from Ipswich to Brighton has seen his value skyrocket. Starting at just £800k when he arrived at Portman Road in 2016, his current worth stands at a staggering £10m, a remarkable 1150% increase.
That’s a 185% rise from the £3.5m Ipswich received when they sold him to Bristol City in 2018.
As the 30-year-old looks to further solidify his place in the Premier League, Ipswich’s fortunes appear set to plummet back to the EFL.
