“Definitely, yes, I have unfinished business with my former club” – Leeds United star promises a future return to his old team, sparking fury among fans.

Leeds United striker Joel Piroe is enjoying his time at the club but still holds a strong desire to return to PSV later in his career.

With just eight games remaining, Leeds are on the verge of securing promotion back to the Premier League—a goal that would fulfill the dreams of many players, including those who have never played in England’s top flight.

Joel Piroe: Leeds United would be top of the Eredivisie

Piroe, who is also competing for the golden boot while helping Leeds push for promotion, is fully focused on the task at hand.

Despite the Championship’s drop in quality compared to previous years, the division still attracts top talent from around the world.

Originally from the Netherlands, Piroe believes Leeds would be one of the top teams in the Eredivisie if they were to compete there.

“Tactically, the Championship is different. We play many games close together, so we have less time to prepare for opponents compared to the Eredivisie,” Piroe explained to ESPN.nl.

“I think the Championship is slightly less tactical, but it’s more intense and physically demanding than the Eredivisie.

In the Championship, teams rely more on their own strengths, which can cause problems when opposing tactics don’t suit you.”

He continued, “I believe Leeds could compete at the top of the Eredivisie.”

Piroe left PSV a month before his 22nd birthday to join Swansea City, and while his primary focus is now on helping Leeds achieve Premier League football, he hasn’t ruled out a return to the Netherlands in the future.

When asked about the possibility of returning to PSV, Piroe responded, “Yes, absolutely.

Why not? I had a great time there, and when I think about it, it feels like unfinished business.

But right now, my focus is completely on reaching the Premier League. I want to experience that first.”

With promotion and the golden boot at stake, Piroe is committed to Leeds’ immediate goals.

While his long-term ambitions include a potential move back to PSV, for now, his sole focus is on getting Leeds back into the Premier League.
