“The kit men gave it to me and this was something that it’s all about”- Matheus Cunha shares TOUCHING Wolves Gesture of what that made him “LOVE” the Club even more. You won’t believe what happened

Matheus Cunha has shared what makes Wolves stand out from the other clubs he’s played for.

It’s been a while since Wolves fans have seen Cunha’s brilliance on the pitch, with the forward currently serving a suspension under Vitor Pereira.

While it’s been a frustrating period for the 25-year-old, he’s feeling positive while on international duty, having received his first Brazil call-up since joining Wolves. Cunha made his return to international action against Colombia and is set to play in Brazil’s upcoming match against Argentina before heading back to the West Midlands.

Cunha Opens Up About Wolves’ Special Bond

While Cunha is generating excitement at international level, there’s still unfinished business for him domestically with Wolves.

The club is nearing safety, sitting nine points clear of the relegation zone with just nine games left in the season. While fans are relieved the end of the campaign is in sight, it also brings the possibility that Cunha’s time at Wolves could be drawing to a close. There’s speculation that transfer interest may see him leave in the summer, but the player himself has hinted that it would take a lot to convince him to depart.

During the international break, Wolves shared a video offering a glimpse into Cunha’s life, where the 2023 signing revealed just how much the club means to him.

In the video, the former Atletico Madrid forward showed off a gift from one of the club’s kit men — his hat-trick ball from the 2023/24 victory over Chelsea.

“The kit men gave it to me, and this is what it’s all about,” Cunha said.

“When I talk about the club, I speak from the heart. I really love being part of this.

The kit men do these kinds of things, and it shows me more love than what I’ve experienced at ‘normal’ clubs.”

The Brazil international explained that these behind-the-scenes gestures motivate him to give even more on the pitch, adding that they remain in his mind when he wears the Old Gold.

“Things like that stay with you when you put on the shirt,” Cunha said. “You play for everyone, and when you win, it makes them happy. That’s what makes it all the more meaningful.”

When Will Cunha Return from Suspension?

Cunha’s comments will be welcomed by fans, who have felt disconnected from their star forward recently.

After his red card against Bournemouth, some supporters questioned Cunha’s discipline, with his suspension coming at a particularly tough time.

Thankfully, Wolves have managed to pick up four points without their star player, but his return is still a little while away.

Cunha was handed a three-match ban but received an additional one-game suspension after being charged by the FA for his behavior.

He’s set to return for Wolves’ clash with Tottenham at Molineux, though he’ll miss the upcoming games against West Ham and Ipswich Town.

The Brazilian will be thankful to his teammates for holding the fort in his absence, as Wolves continue their fight for Premier League survival.
