Potter then singled out Fullkrug, stating, “He was really good. You can see what he brings to the team – we can go long to him, he picks up second balls, and he’s a threat in the box.
It was good to see him play 45 minutes for us for the first time in a long while.”
Ferguson’s Struggles and Fullkrug’s Impact
Ferguson now faces the harsh reality of being overshadowed by the aging, injury-prone Fullkrug, who managed to look like the better option in his first appearance in months.
To be upstaged by a player with limited match fitness is a huge blow to Ferguson’s confidence, and his time in West Ham’s starting lineup may already be over.
His disappointing display against Wolves suggests that this could be his first and last start in claret and blue.
