“Did Wolves deserve the win? In my humble opinion…” Wolves manager Vitor Pereira offered an unexpectedly honest assessment when asked if his team truly deserved their 2-1 victory over Ipswich.
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira believes his team deserved their 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town in a crucial Premier League relegation clash at Portman Road yesterday.
Ipswich initially took the lead and had the chance to reduce the gap to just six points, but Pereira’s side fought back to claim the win.
The result gives Wolves a 12-point cushion over the Blues, with just seven matches and 21 points remaining.
Speaking to the Wolves website, Pereira expressed his satisfaction: “I’m very happy for the players, the club, and especially the supporters.
“The first half wasn’t what we had planned. We intended to win, created two or three chances, but the pace and pressing weren’t as I asked for.
“At halftime, we made tactical changes, and we started to control the game better, with improved possession, movement, and pressing. We created chances and scored two goals, and I believe we deserved the win.
“We have great players, and we’re showing the true spirit of a team, playing together. As I mentioned when we began our work, the first step was to create an identity, and then to become more consistent and improve steadily.
“In my opinion, we truly earned this result.”
