“Deal Done Imminent”- Nottingham Forest Set to Finalize £59m Striker Transfer, Player Receives Green Light to Move with Goal Tally Equal to Chris Wood’s
Nottingham Forest will soon shift their focus to strengthening their squad, and an exciting transfer window could be on the horizon.
With just seven Premier League matches remaining this season, Forest are currently third in the table and are aiming for a Champions League spot. Securing a place in Europe’s top competition would likely lead to the signing of one or two high-profile players.
Viktor Gyokeres has already been linked with a move to Forest, and attacking players are expected to be at the top of their list of priorities for the summer window. Evangelos Marinakis had hoped to bring in a striker during January but was unsuccessful, so it’s anticipated that the focus will shift towards securing one in the summer.
Nottingham Forest set to target Ademola Lookman
Forest already have Nigerian internationals Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi in their ranks, and now another Super Eagles player might be heading to the club. Ademola Lookman has been linked with a move to Forest, and it now appears certain that he will leave Atalanta in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel: “I can confirm that Ademola Lookman will leave Atalanta this summer. The decision has been made, and his agents are already working on finding solutions. His relationship with the Atalanta coach has broken down.”
“Juventus are among the clubs interested, and in England, several teams are showing interest. PSG was keen on him last year, but that’s less likely this summer.”
Lookman would be a welcome addition to Forest, offering versatility on the pitch. The forward would likely be excited for another opportunity in the Premier League.
Ademola Lookman’s 2024/25 Stats
Lookman is capable of playing as a striker, but he is also effective on the left-wing, and his form at Atalanta has elevated his game. In the 2023/24 season, he scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final, handing Bayer Leverkusen their only defeat of the campaign.
At 27, Lookman is in his prime, and any team that signs him will be acquiring a player in peak condition. If the £59 million price tag proves to be accurate, it would be a significant investment.
Given Forest’s current progression, Lookman seems like the ideal type of player to strengthen their squad. If a deal can be reached, it would undoubtedly be an exciting addition for the Reds.
