“Leeds’ £17.5k-per-week Wonderkid Set to Become Farke’s Latest Flop Like Jaidon Anthony
Leeds United appeared set for a triumphant return to the Premier League after a convincing 3-1 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in February.
However, things have since taken a turn for the worse for Daniel Farke and his team.
The once-confident league leaders have fallen out of the Championship’s top two following a third consecutive draw, this time against Luton Town.
Similar to last season, when Leeds failed to secure promotion, several players have underperformed and failed to meet expectations in recent matches.
One player in particular is drawing comparisons to Jaidon Anthony’s disappointing loan spell at Leeds.
Anthony’s Struggling Loan at Leeds
In football, not all transfers go as planned, and Jaidon Anthony’s forgettable season-long loan at Elland Road last campaign was one such case.
The AFC Bournemouth loanee started just two Championship matches for Leeds, scoring only one goal in a season marked by limited opportunities.
However, Anthony has since found success at his new club, Burnley, where he’s been a key figure in their push for promotion.
He has contributed six goals and six assists in the 2024/25 season, helping Burnley rise to the top of the Championship, a position they hold at the expense of Leeds.
His improved form with the Clarets contrasts sharply with his lack of impact at Leeds.
Leeds fans will be hoping that a similar situation isn’t unfolding with one of Farke’s current players, who seems to be following the same disappointing path as Anthony.
Farke’s Next Anthony at Elland Road?
Farke has shown flexibility in his team selections, even dropping first-choice goalkeeper Illan Meslier for recent matches.
However, despite these changes, Largie Ramazani has seen limited playing time, often relegated to the bench.
Ramazani’s time at Leeds started brightly after his summer move from UD Almería. He scored two goals in his first five league appearances, but has since struggled for consistent minutes.
With Farke favoring other wingers like Manor Solomon and Daniel James, Ramazani’s opportunities have diminished.
The £17.5k-per-week winger has started only seven of his 26 league matches this season, raising concerns that his promising start might fade into obscurity.
Farke even opted not to use him in the 1-1 draw at Luton, saying the £10m signing needs to “step up” in order to earn more first-team chances.
While it’s not yet clear whether Ramazani’s time at Leeds is coming to an end, his struggles so far are reminiscent of Anthony’s difficult loan spell.
If his situation doesn’t improve, Leeds could risk losing a player who might go on to shine elsewhere, just as Anthony has done with Burnley, a fierce promotion rival.
