Illan Meslier Set for Summer Exit as Interest Grows from Rennes and Leicester

Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier could be on his way out of Elland Road this summer, with the 25-year-old reportedly attracting interest from both Rennes and Leicester City, according to TEAMtalk.

Meslier has seen his role diminish in recent months following a dip in form, with Karl Darlow now established as the first-choice keeper for the Championship side. The Frenchman is said to be eager for more consistent playing time — something he’s unlikely to get if he remains at Leeds — and is reportedly open to a move.

Despite being under contract until 2026, Leeds may look to cash in on Meslier this summer to avoid losing him for a reduced fee later on. Given his age and potential, the club will likely aim to secure a respectable transfer fee.

With promotion to the Premier League firmly in sight, Leeds are expected to strengthen their squad — and upgrading the goalkeeper position may be a key part of that plan. Meslier, who has struggled to meet expectations recently, could be one of several changes as the club looks to build a stronger top-flight-ready team.

As the summer approaches, the question remains: where will Meslier land? At 25, he’s entering a crucial stage of his career and will be determined to rediscover top form through regular minutes elsewhere.
