“We know how to stop Leeds”- Bristol City boss Liam Manning’s Shocking Strategy to Stop Leeds United – Farke and the Whites Are in Trouble

Liam Manning Sets Confident Tone Ahead of Bristol City’s Trip to Elland Road

Bristol City manager Liam Manning is heading into Monday night’s Championship fixture at Elland Road with optimism, as his side prepares to take on already-promoted Leeds United.

Manning, whose team currently sits fifth in the table, knows that three more points will mathematically secure a play-off spot.

Despite being seen as underdogs, he remains upbeat about their chances against a strong Leeds side.

The Robins boss pointed to previous strong performances—such as the goalless draw against Leeds in October and a 1-1 result against Sheffield United in March—as evidence that his team can rise to the occasion.

While he praised Leeds manager Daniel Farke for the “terrific” job he’s done this season, Manning emphasized that belief and mindset will be key factors in his team’s performance on Monday.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Manning said, “We’ve shown we can compete—mindset is everything.

It’s about being brave, seizing the opportunity, and not fearing the opposition, no matter who they are.”

He added that daily preparation has built the team’s confidence and progress: “It’s about doing the basics well and executing the right behaviours. That’s what helped us perform so well against Sheffield United.”

Facing a well-drilled Leeds side, Manning knows the challenge is significant, but he’s calling on his players to rise to it.

“When you face a team as well-organised as Leeds, with quality players and a strong coach, you have to be at your best—and that’s the test we’re looking forward to.”
