“Ethan Ampadu Breaks Silence with Powerful Message to Leeds Board Amid Daniel Farke Sack Rumours

Leeds United Captain Ethan Ampadu Backs Farke Amid Uncertainty Over Future

Leeds United skipper Ethan Ampadu has publicly supported manager Daniel Farke, despite ongoing speculation about the German’s future at Elland Road. This comes even after Farke led the team to Premier League promotion.

Farke, who previously secured two Championship titles with Norwich City, said last week that he wasn’t surprised by reports suggesting the club may be considering his dismissal. While Leeds have not issued an official response, rumors persist that there are concerns about his ability to keep the team in the Premier League.

Speaking after Leeds’ 4-0 victory over Bristol City, Ampadu defended his manager: “He’s shown in the past how successful he can be. He gives us guidance and confidence—he’s been through it all before, and we’re learning from that.”

Leeds secured their return to the top flight last week with a 6-0 thrashing of Stoke City, combined with Sheffield United’s defeat at Burnley. Reflecting on the timing of the promotion-clinching results, Ampadu admitted some frustration: “We were a bit disappointed to play earlier [last Monday]—we wanted to celebrate with the fans. But we’re making up for it now.”

Ampadu, who has embraced the leadership role this season, added: “I’m still learning, but the team makes it look easy because everyone steps up. It’s a squad full of leaders, and we’re going to enjoy this moment.”

He concluded: “This is huge for us. We’ll celebrate now, and we’ll think about what’s next soon. But for now, it’s about enjoying everything we’ve worked for.”
