Leeds United Continue Winning Streak and Celebrate Promotion in Style
Leeds United have found their rhythm, turning a corner since ending a string of three consecutive draws with a victory at the Riverside Stadium.
Since then, the team has gone from strength to strength, securing five straight wins and earning promotion to the Premier League in the process.
Monday night provided a perfect occasion for both players and fans to celebrate.
While promotion had been clinched the week before, there had been no chance for a proper celebration until the home fixture against Bristol City.
The Robins, still in the hunt for a play-off spot, were desperate for a win—but Daniel Farke’s side proved too strong.
Leeds put on a dominant display, scoring three times in the second half to secure a 4-0 win, giving the Elland Road faithful the chance to revel in their team’s return to the top flight.
One notable absence from the squad was Dan James, who continues to recover from a hamstring injury picked up during the Middlesbrough match.
Although there had been hope of a return, a late call ruled him out, allowing young Harry Gray to make his senior debut. Speaking after the game, James shared an update on his condition:
“These moments are special. We played with freedom tonight. There’s still one more match to go,” he said via Leeds Live.
When asked about his chances of featuring against Plymouth, he replied: “Slim chance I’m involved.”
He also praised the team’s efforts this season:
“There haven’t been many Championship campaigns where you need 100 points to win the league. Tonight was for everyone—the fans, the manager.
He said a few weeks ago we’d be in the Premier League, and now we are. It’s an incredible feeling.”
Leeds Well Equipped to Cope Without James in Final Game
Though James’s absence is felt, Leeds have been in fine attacking form, netting 14 goals in their last five matches. The goals have been shared across the squad, with contributions from Joel Piroe, Manor Solomon, and most recently Largie Ramazani.
With promotion already secured and the team firing on all cylinders, Daniel Farke’s men should be more than capable of handling their final fixture without James.
