Millwall manager Alex Neil shared that he used Leeds United’s halftime scoreline as motivation for his players, revealing he told them Leeds were trailing 1-0 to Plymouth — a result that would have spurred title-chasing Burnley, who were level 1-1 with Millwall at the break.
With Millwall needing a win to keep their play-off hopes alive and Burnley needing a better result than Leeds to claim the Championship title, the stakes were high.

He continued, “I was hoping we could ride out their pressure and then snatch a chance later on, but we missed a big opportunity before they got their second. Those fine margins decide matches.”
Neil described Coburn’s miss as a turning point. “That’s the kind of moment that can change everything.
If we’d held on longer before conceding or taken that second chance, it could’ve swung our way.
Unfortunately, Coburn didn’t quite get his feet right, and the chance was gone. That one hurt us.”
