It’s unclear how much financial support he’ll receive, but it’s essential the club backs the 48-year-old as he shapes his Premier League lineup.
One pressing issue is the uncertain future of left-back Junior Firpo. The defender played a crucial role throughout the 2024/25 season, registering 14 goal contributions in 32 league games.
However, his contract expires at the end of June, and no extension appears imminent.
During the club’s promotion celebrations, teammate Ethan Ampadu was heard referencing Spanish club Real Betis—one of the teams linked with Firpo—adding fuel to speculation about his departure.

If Firpo does leave, Farke will need to act quickly to find a suitable replacement—no easy task given the scarcity of quality left-backs.
One solution might have been Leif Davis, a former Leeds player now starring at Ipswich Town.
Sold in 2022 for £1 million, Davis has since delivered 34 assists and played a key role in Ipswich’s rise from League One to the Premier League.
While fans may regret his departure, Leeds could turn their attention to another promising English left-back: Archie Brown.
The 22-year-old Gent defender, a Derby County academy graduate, has enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign, attracting past interest from Chelsea and Tottenham, with a £15 million price tag once mentioned. Brown has made 45 appearances across all competitions, helping push Gent toward a Belgian Pro League title.
Statistically, Brown has outperformed Firpo in several key metrics.
He’s completed more progressive carries, advanced further into attacking zones, and produced a higher rate of take-ons and shots on target.
On the defensive side, he has recorded more blocks, interceptions, and aerial duel wins—showing he’s a well-rounded option.
Losing Firpo would be a blow, but if a new deal can’t be agreed, Leeds must act swiftly. While Brown hasn’t been linked recently, revisiting their interest could be wise.
At just 22, he has the attributes and potential to grow into a key Premier League performer for years to come.
