Jobe Bellingham has broken his silence following Sunderland’s hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Coventry City in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final.

“We’ve been talking a lot about complacency and staying consistent. Young players can sometimes get caught up in the moment, but they showed real discipline and maturity. It wasn’t an easy match, but they stuck to our principles, and that’s what got us through.”
Sunderland now look ahead to Tuesday, 13th May, where they’ll aim to finish the job and reach the play-off final — their first real shot at a Premier League return since relegation in 2017.
