Leeds United’s celebrations following their return to the Premier League are barely over, but the transfer buzz around Elland Road is already in full swing.
The club has been linked with a wide range of potential signings, including Everton striker Beto and Tottenham forward Richarlison.
However, Richarlison isn’t the only Spurs player reportedly on Leeds’ radar.
After a successful loan spell at Elland Road, Manor Solomon is believed to be a top target for a permanent deal.
Tottenham may be open to letting the 25-year-old go, potentially paving the way for Leeds to bring him back for good.
Solomon’s Impact and Leeds’ Pursuit
Solomon’s move last summer came with its share of risks, given his injury struggles at Spurs during the 2023/24 campaign, where he missed nearly 280 days due to fitness issues.
But during his loan stint at Leeds, the Israeli winger stayed fit and proved vital in their title-winning campaign.
His last-minute goal against Plymouth Argyle sealed the Championship crown, rounding off a strong season where he notched ten goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances.
Given his contributions, Leeds are eager to secure his services permanently, and reports suggest they may need to pay around £20 million to make that happen.
Bringing Solomon back would mark a strong statement of intent, but an even bigger potential signing could be on the horizon — one that would truly energize the Elland Road faithful.
Kalvin Phillips Return Would Outshine Solomon Deal
While £20 million for Solomon is a sizable investment, it’s not far off the record-breaking fee Leeds paid for Georginio Rutter (£35.5m) in 2023 — a deal that ultimately paid off. Still, Solomon’s injury history could be a concern in the Premier League, making the possibility of a Kalvin Phillips return even more exciting.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Leeds are seriously considering re-signing Phillips this summer, with the £13 million-rated midfielder open to a return to his boyhood club.
With Joe Rothwell heading back to Bournemouth after his loan, Phillips could fill a key midfield gap while bringing a wealth of Premier League and international experience.
The Leeds academy graduate, once sold for £45 million, has struggled for consistency at Manchester City and during his loans at West Ham and Ipswich. Yet, he remains a highly capable player when on form.
At his best, Phillips was a complete midfielder at Elland Road — known for his tough tackling, passing range, and ability to contribute in attack.
With 92 Premier League appearances and four goal involvements to his name at Leeds, his return could help stabilize the midfield and offer much-needed leadership.
By contrast, Solomon has just 24 Premier League appearances under his belt.
While a permanent move for the winger would be welcomed, a Phillips reunion — especially at a reduced fee — would likely be seen as a far more impactful acquisition.
