Wan-Bissaka Shines on Old Trafford Return with West Ham
Former Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka made a notable return to Old Trafford over the weekend, impressing for West Ham United in their 2-0 Premier League win.
The 27-year-old, who transferred to the Hammers last summer, was back at his old stomping ground for the first time since leaving United.
West Ham secured the win with goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen, the latter of which was assisted by Wan-Bissaka.
The full-back’s strong display earned praise, and he acknowledged the occasion on Instagram, posting photos from the match along with the caption: “Big W. Thanks for the warm reception today OT.”
His post drew likes from current United stars including Marcus Rashford, Antony, Lisandro Martinez, and Alejandro Garnacho, as well as former teammates such as David De Gea and Mason Greenwood.
After the match, West Ham manager Graham Potter commended Wan-Bissaka’s recent form. “He’s been really impressive,” said Potter. “I can’t say definitively, but this might be the best football he’s played in his career.
He’s enjoying his football, contributing both offensively and defensively, and has been a key figure for us even during tough spells.”
Wan-Bissaka made 190 appearances during his time at Manchester United, scoring twice and registering 13 assists.
