Crystal Palace Want ‘Phenomenal’ £30m Striker if Mateta Leaves This Summer
Crystal Palace Eye Strasbourg’s Emanuel Emegha as Potential Successor to Jean-Philippe Mateta
Crystal Palace may already have their sights set on a long-term replacement for Jean-Philippe Mateta, should the in-form French striker leave Selhurst Park this summer.
Reports suggest that the Eagles are closely monitoring Strasbourg forward Emanuel Emegha, with a potential move on the cards if Mateta departs during the transfer window.

Mateta has enjoyed another standout season, and with just three more goals in Palace’s remaining two Premier League fixtures, he could surpass his tally of 16 league goals from last season.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, and interest from top clubs could see the striker move on—particularly if Champions League opportunities arise.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Palace are ready to make a move for Emegha should Mateta exit.
The 21-year-old Dutch forward has impressed in Ligue 1 this season, netting 14 goals under manager Liam Rosenior at Strasbourg, who remain in the hunt for a Champions League spot alongside Lille and Nice.
Described as “simply phenomenal,” Emegha’s explosive rise has drawn attention from several Premier League clubs, but Palace are believed to be especially keen.

Strasbourg are reportedly seeking around £30 million for the striker, and Palace are prepared to make a competitive offer if they lose Mateta.
With two years remaining on his current deal, Mateta has been a key figure in Palace’s campaign under Oliver Glasner, which includes a run to the FA Cup final.
But with growing ambitions—including a potential role as France’s leading striker—he may be tempted by a bigger stage.
Emegha, seen as a stylistic match for Mateta but with youth on his side, could prove to be a shrewd long-term investment—especially if Strasbourg miss out on Champions League qualification, potentially making him more attainable.
