“He’s a world-class Talent with the potential to archive everything in football world”- Abdoulaye Doucoure says Everton have a ‘top’ player who could genuinely achieve anything in the game
Everton Tipped for Big Premier League Rise as Doucouré Hails Branthwaite’s Elite Potential
Everton are expected to make a significant leap up the Premier League table next season, with renewed optimism at Goodison Park following David Moyes’ return.
Since Moyes took charge in January, the Toffees have performed like a top-half side based on their recent form, and many believe they could challenge for European qualification next season.
Backed by substantial financial support from The Friedkin Group, Moyes is set to reshape the squad in the summer transfer window.
Midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré is among those excited about the club’s future — and particularly about one rising star.
Speaking on Ben Foster’s podcast, Doucouré singled out defender Jarrad Branthwaite as a player with limitless potential.
“Jarrad is a top talent, a top defender,” said the 32-year-old. “He’s got the speed, he’s comfortable with both feet, and mentally he’s very strong.
He’s grounded and has a good support system around him. Honestly, the sky’s the limit for him.”
Doucouré emphasized that Branthwaite only needs to keep playing regularly and working hard to reach the elite level of the game.
However, keeping hold of the 22-year-old could prove challenging for Everton.
Branthwaite is attracting strong interest, particularly from Manchester United, who are reportedly eager to land him this summer.
The Friedkin Group values the defender at around £70 million and hopes to extend his current contract, which has two years remaining.
Despite no concrete developments yet, speculation persists that Branthwaite may consider a move to boost his chances of making England’s 2026 World Cup squad.
