“He’s Unpredictable and Crazy”- Patrick Bamford Drops Truth Bomb on Returning Star and Reveals What Really Happened with departed duo

Leeds Star Praises Returning Teammate While Reflecting on Three American Players’ Impact

Patrick Bamford has praised the return of Brenden Aaronson to Leeds United, while sharing insights on the influence of American trio Aaronson, Tyler Adams, and Weston McKennie during their time at the club.

The trio joined Leeds during the 2022–23 Premier League season, a campaign that ended in relegation to the Championship.

Following that season, Adams transferred to AFC Bournemouth, and McKennie returned to Juventus after his loan spell ended.

Aaronson, meanwhile, activated a relegation release clause to join Union Berlin on loan for the 2023–24 season.

Despite doubts about his long-term future at Elland Road, Aaronson returned ahead of the 2024–25 season and played a pivotal role in Leeds’ Championship-winning campaign.

Only two players logged more minutes than him, and Bamford acknowledged his development and contribution.

In an interview with CBS Sports Golazo, Bamford reflected on the adaptation of all three Americans to English football.

“Weston was only with us briefly, but he’s a real character—just a bit mad, in the best way,” Bamford said. “Tyler, on the other hand, is more grounded—still funny but sensible.

He probably adjusted the fastest because his playing style naturally fit the demands of the English midfield.”

As for Aaronson, Bamford noted his early challenges. “If you asked Brenden, he’d probably admit he struggled a bit when he first arrived.

But after going out on loan and working on his physicality, you can really see the difference this season. He’s been excellent.”
