“I know Sunderland fans will HIT back at me but i still have to say it”- Former Championship hitman Sam Parkin make TERRIFIC claim about Régis Le Bris at Sunderland that makes “Supporters and fans of the Championship will probably furious about
Former Championship striker Sam Parkin believes Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris is a coach of “terrific quality” and has extracted the maximum potential from the Black Cats’ squad.
Sunderland is now just one step away from the Premier League after securing a spot in the Championship playoff final.
Despite struggling in the final stretch of the regular season, with many predicting they would be eliminated by Coventry City, Le Bris’ team showed resilience and defied expectations to reach the playoff final.
Parkin praised the talent available to Le Bris, mentioning players like Chris Rigg, Jobe Bellingham, and Enzo Le Fee. However, he emphasized that it’s Le Bris’ ability to maximize the squad’s potential that stands out.
“Fans and followers of the Championship will likely point to Le Fee, Bellingham, and Chris Rigg, one of the most gifted players in the country,” Parkin said on the Championship Check-in Show (6:45). “But when you look at the squad, he’s gotten so much out of them.”
“He’s demonstrated exceptional quality in just 12 months, which speaks to him being an outstanding coach,” he continued. “I really like his approach, the style of play, and how he conducts himself in interviews.”
Le Bris now faces a major test with Sheffield United standing in the way of Sunderland’s Premier League aspirations.
The question remains whether the Black Cats can end their eight-year wait for a return to the top flight.
