“Perfect Daniel Farke replacement confirmed?”- Leeds United submit ‘strong offer’ for Real Madrid icon deemed ‘dream’ Daniel Farke replacement

Leeds United Considering Shock Move for Real Madrid Legend Raul Despite Backing Daniel Farke

Leeds United are reportedly still weighing up a potential managerial change despite publicly backing current boss Daniel Farke — and have submitted a “strong offer” to Real Madrid legend Raul.

Farke was appointed in 2023 following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

Although he initially faced pressure during his first 18 months in charge, the club appeared to be on track for an immediate Premier League return.

However, their campaign stumbled late on, with Leeds missing out on automatic promotion and ultimately losing the play-off final at Wembley.

Leeds kept faith in Farke, and that decision paid off this season, as they narrowly beat Burnley to claim the Championship title on the final day.

Yet, despite this success, speculation emerged shortly after their promotion that the club could still part ways with Farke, largely due to lingering concerns over his past struggles in the Premier League with Norwich City.

Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe recently addressed the situation and reaffirmed his support for Farke.

“My plan was always to come and speak to you all right after the season concluded, and so that time is now,” Marathe said. “I want to tell you all that I’m very excited to run it back with Daniel.”

Nevertheless, fresh reports from Spanish outlet AS claim that Leeds remain interested in bringing in former Real Madrid star Raul as manager.

Raul, a Spanish football icon with 102 caps and 323 goals in 741 appearances for Real Madrid, has been managing Real Madrid Castilla since 2019.

Leeds were previously linked with him in 2023 during their search to replace Jesse Marsch, and interest appears to have been reignited.

According to AS, Raul has decided to leave Real Madrid in search of a new challenge, after being passed over for the senior job in favour of Xabi Alonso, who is expected to take over from Carlo Ancelotti.

Leeds are said to be one of several clubs interested in Raul, alongside Villarreal and Bundesliga side Schalke 04 — the latter reportedly eager to make him the face of their rebuild.

The report notes:
“Now, there’s a fork in the road ahead. On one hand, his future.

He’s had strong offers, from Leeds United, Villarreal, and the perennial interest of Schalke 04, who dream of him as the architect of their rebirth.

But the decision hasn’t been made; it’s time to consider it — and to assess which side is the favourite.”

As it stands, Leeds have publicly committed to Farke, but behind the scenes, they may be quietly preparing for a bold managerial switch ahead of their Premier League return.
