Crucial boost for Villa as positive update given on influential ace

Unai Emery Confirms Youri Tielemans Could Return for Villa’s Season Finale Against Man United

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has revealed that midfielder Youri Tielemans may be available for Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash with Manchester United.

The Belgian has missed Villa’s recent victories over Bournemouth and Tottenham due to a muscle injury, with early suggestions that he could be out for the remainder of the season.

However, Emery has now offered a positive update on his recovery.

Despite Tielemans’ absence, Villa have maintained strong form, with Amadou Onana stepping in effectively.

Still, Tielemans’ influence throughout the season can’t be overlooked — the 28-year-old has scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, playing a key role in controlling the midfield and maintaining possession.

His return, even in a limited capacity, would be a huge boost as Villa look to secure Champions League qualification on the final day.

Speaking to VillaTV, Emery said:
“He trained today — it was his first session back with the group. We’ll train again tomorrow. If he feels good, confident, and there’s no doubt about his condition, he’ll be in the squad on Sunday.”

While a starting spot may be unlikely due to his recent lack of match fitness, having Tielemans available from the bench could be vital.

His experience, composure, and leadership could prove decisive, particularly in the latter stages at Old Trafford.

That said, Onana has impressed in the Belgian’s absence, offering strength and control in midfield.

Emery will still be able to field a strong starting XI and call on a deep bench as Villa push for a top-five finish and a spot in next season’s Champions League.
