Matheus Cunha has admitted to making mistakes during his time at Wolves last season—but says they came from a place of deep passion for the club.
The 26-year-old forward, who is on the verge of completing a move to Manchester United, shared a heartfelt message on social media as the season wrapped up.
Cunha experienced both highs and lows throughout the campaign, netting 15 goals but also facing two separate suspensions for incidents in matches against Ipswich and Bournemouth.
With a transfer to Old Trafford expected as early as this week, the Brazilian took a moment to reflect on his time at Wolves, expressing his affection for the club and its supporters.
“Wolves, what can I say? What an incredible season,” he wrote.
“We didn’t reach the heights you deserve, but we gave everything to make you proud. I love these guys.
“Personally, it was the best season of my life, and that was only possible because of the commitment and love I’ve put into this club.
“I became the Brazilian with the most goals in a single Premier League season, alongside Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Martinelli.
“I made mistakes and had successes, but always because I gave my all for this club.
“My only goal was to achieve the impossible for Wolves. Another chapter closes, and I thank you all for the love and support.”
