Among West Ham United supporters, it’s become a familiar joke: Declan Rice left in search of silverware at Arsenal—only to keep coming up empty-handed.

Rice himself may point to his memorable brace against Real Madrid as a career highlight. But as Arsenal stumbled yet again—this time falling to Paris Saint-Germain—the shine on those free-kicks has dulled, eclipsed by another crushing disappointment.

And in a twist that only adds salt to the wound, even former West Ham reserve goalkeeper Nathan Trott has managed to lift more trophies than the £100 million man.
Nathan Trott Celebrates Danish League Triumph with FC Copenhagen
Sold by West Ham to FC Copenhagen for around £1.5 million last summer, Trott now has another title to his name.
Copenhagen clinched the Danish Superliga crown with a 3-0 win over Nordsjaelland, narrowly edging out Midtjylland by a single point. Though Trott was on the bench for the decisive match, he featured in 17 of the club’s 32 league games—winning nine—and played a key role in the post-season play-offs.
Copenhagen coach Jacob Neestrup singled Trott out for praise after his performances against Aarhus in back-to-back 3-1 wins, especially his handling of set-pieces.
“Nathan was flawless in how he dealt with AGF’s set plays. He deserves high praise,” Neestrup said. “He’s been vital in two great victories.”
Second Title in Denmark for Trott
While Ramaj returned as starting goalkeeper for the final stretch, Trott’s reputation in Denmark continues to grow. Already a title-winner in 2022/23 with Velje Boldklub in the Danish second tier, Trott now boasts trophies from both of the country’s top leagues.
“We’ve won it in style,” Neestrup said in a celebratory press conference. “This team is full of talent, but just as importantly, full of selfless characters. No egos—just commitment to the club and to each other.
“That’s what this season was about. And Trott has been part of that success.”
