Ipswich Town are targeting Manchester City forward Divin Mubama as they look to bolster their attacking options.
The 20-year-old striker is currently being considered for a loan move by City, though Ipswich are reportedly interested in a permanent deal. Mubama joined City from West Ham last year and finished the season with 15 goals, catching the attention of several clubs.
Ipswich had previously made inquiries to Chelsea about taking Spanish striker Marc Guiu on loan, but with the player yet to be convinced, the club is now exploring other options, including Mubama.
Meanwhile, Liam Delap is set for a transfer to Chelsea, prompting Ipswich to intensify their search for attacking reinforcements.
Mubama may still be involved in Manchester City’s Club World Cup campaign, as the club plans to include several young talents in the squad for the tournament, which kicks off on June 18 against Wydad AC in the USA.
Elsewhere, City are pushing ahead with transfer talks for AC Milan’s Tijjan Reijnders and Lyon’s Rayan Cherki as part of their efforts to refresh the squad ahead of the Club World Cup.
Manager Pep Guardiola is also making changes to his coaching staff. Ben Wilkinson will step up from the U21s to help lead the squad in the USA, while City are also considering candidates like Kolo Toure and ex-Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders for roles on the backroom team.
