According to The Times, Villarreal forward Thierno Barry has emerged as a “leading target” for Everton ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Times reporter Paul Joyce reveals that Everton are ramping up their pursuit of Villarreal striker Thierno Barry, who has earned praise as an “elite” talent.
The 22-year-old French youth international made the move to Spain from Basel in 2024 and impressed in his first La Liga season, helping Villarreal secure a fifth-place finish and Champions League qualification.
Barry has a £34 million release clause, attracting attention from numerous clubs, including Everton. On paper, he seems like an ideal fit for the Toffees.
While Beto has shown flashes of quality under Moyes, he has yet to sustain top form over an entire season. Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has battled fitness issues and is yet to commit to a new contract.
