Speaking to The Athletic, former Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell recalled how close Everton came to signing the young full-back.
“David Moyes thought he had Kyle [signed] at Everton,” Blackwell said. “But Harry Redknapp was also a big fan, and in the end, Tottenham got him. It was a great deal for both Kyle and Spurs.”
