Joe Gomez Tops List of Ambitious Targets

Sunderland are reportedly eyeing a blockbuster move for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, according to The Guardian.

Gomez, who boasts 149 Premier League appearances and 15 caps for England, is also being monitored by Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham, Leeds, and Burnley.

Securing his signature would be a massive statement of intent from Sunderland as they aim to establish themselves back in the top flight.

Diarra, Carter-Vickers & Tanganga on Defensive Radar

The Guardian also reports Sunderland are among several clubs chasing Strasbourg star Habib Diarra.

The 20-year-old midfielder has impressed in Ligue 1 and is attracting interest across Europe, with his valuation believed to be around £18.7 million.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are said to be monitoring Cameron Carter-Vickers of Celtic, who has also drawn attention from Leeds.

The American international has been a key figure for the Scottish champions, with prior experience in the English game during spells at Tottenham and Bournemouth.

Additionally, the Black Cats are in the race for Japhet Tanganga, currently at Millwall. After a strong second half of the 2024–25 season, the defender is reportedly being tracked by both Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

Aleksić Poised for Loan Move

Midfielder Milan Aleksić, 19, is expected to leave Sunderland on loan this summer.

Reports from Serbia suggest Partizan Belgrade are in advanced discussions for the youngster, who is eager to gain regular first-team experience.

Since arriving last year, Aleksić has struggled to find minutes under both Michael Beale and Régis Le Bris.

Sunderland Eyeing West Brom’s Isaac Price

According to SportsBoom, Sunderland are one of three promoted clubs showing interest in Isaac Price, the 21-year-old West Brom midfielder and Northern Ireland international.

Price, a former Everton youth product, impressed for club and country last season. Burnley and Portsmouth are also said to be closely watching his situation.

Salis Abdul-Samed Drawing Bundesliga Attention

Former Sunderland loanee Salis Abdul-Samed has emerged as a target for Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, Africa Foot reports.

After returning to RC Lens following an injury-impacted loan spell in England, the Ghanaian midfielder is now being considered for a £5.1 million move to Germany.

Samed is reportedly open to the transfer, viewing it as a “major challenge” in his career.

Morgan Feeney Returns to Carlisle
