“Now official”- Leeds United Break the bank for Jaka Bijol l. Transfer Fee finally revealed. Fans are stunned.
Leeds United Sign Jaka Bijol from Udinese in €22m Deal
Leeds United have completed the signing of Slovenian centre-back Jaka Bijol from Serie A side Udinese for a reported fee of €22 million.
The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Elland Road, becoming a key addition to Daniel Farke’s squad as the club prepares for its Premier League campaign. While Leeds and Udinese did not officially disclose the transfer fee, Italian journalist Eleonora Trotta has confirmed the amount as €22 million.
The significant investment underscores Leeds’ ambition, and Farke will be counting on Bijol to strengthen the club’s defensive stability in the top flight.
Speaking to LUTV, Bijol said he’s ready for the challenge:
“This is a big challenge—not just for me, but for the whole club. I’ve worked hard for this, and I’m here because I believe we’re ready for the Premier League. I promise to give my all in training and be fully prepared for the season ahead.”
Last season, Farke often partnered Joe Rodon with Pascal Struijk in central defence. When Struijk was injured, Ethan Ampadu filled in. Now, with Bijol’s arrival and the sizeable fee involved, he is widely expected to claim a starting role at the heart of defence.
As Leeds continue their summer recruitment drive, one key question remains: who will partner Bijol at the back? More signings are expected in the coming weeks, and the competition for places could intensify.
