Sunderland Set to Sign Chemsedine Talbi After Completing Medical
Club Brugge winger Chemsedine Talbi is on the verge of joining Sunderland after completing his medical and beginning the process of signing his contract at the Stadium of Light.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 20-year-old Belgian has passed all medical examinations and is now finalizing the paperwork at Sunderland’s training ground.
The deal will reportedly cost Sunderland €19 million, with an additional €3 million in performance-based add-ons.
Reports over the weekend suggested Sunderland were closing in on a deal for Talbi as part of their efforts to bolster the squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.
The transfer moved quickly, and Talbi was notably absent from Club Brugge’s squad for their pre-season match against Glasgow Rangers in Scotland on Sunday — a clear sign the move was nearing completion.
With the medical now done and the contract being signed, Talbi is set to become Sunderland’s fifth summer signing, joining Habib Diarra, Enzo Le Fée, Noah Sadiki, and Reinildo Mandava in making the switch to the North East.
