EXCLUSIVE; Leeds United plot €15m raid on league 1 club for 28-year-old ex-Chelsea winger with 21 international cap

Leeds United Eyeing Jeremie Boga in Summer Transfer Move

Leeds United are reportedly targeting Ivorian winger Jeremie Boga from OGC Nice as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

According to Africa Foot, the newly promoted side is keen to add a wide attacker to their ranks this summer, and 28-year-old Boga has emerged as a key target. The Whites have already taken action by submitting a €15 million bid to the French club.

Boga, who has earned 21 caps for Ivory Coast, is said to be open to a Premier League return. The winger previously had a stint with Chelsea but struggled to make an impact, leaving him with a sense of unfinished business in English football—a factor that could work in Leeds’ favor.

Boga’s Rise in Ligue 1

Since joining Nice from Atalanta in July 2023, Boga has significantly raised his profile. A Marseille native, he began his youth career locally before moving to Chelsea’s academy.

Although he didn’t break through at Stamford Bridge, he found his footing in Italy, leading to a successful spell at Atalanta.

At Nice, Boga has made over 50 appearances, tallying nine goals and seven assists. His performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, and Leeds United are now among those vying for his services.

A Return to the Premier League?

Leeds’ pursuit of Boga aligns with their need for reinforcements on the flanks, particularly as a permanent deal for Tottenham’s Manor Solomon remains uncertain.

Despite having quality wingers like Daniel James, Largie Ramazani, and Wilfried Gnonto, manager Daniel Farke is eager to increase attacking depth.

Other targets, including Timothy Weah, are also on Leeds’ radar, but Boga appears to be a leading candidate. However, it remains unclear whether Nice will accept the current €15 million offer.

As Boga considers a return to England, Leeds United await a response from the Ligue 1 side. Whether or not the deal materializes, it’s clear the former Chelsea man could soon be back in the Premier League spotlight.
