Just In: "17-Year-Old Chris Rigg Turned Down Manchester United and Newcastle"- Premier League Clubs Still Eyeing Sunderland Star"

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg. The 17-year-old recently signed his first professional contract with Sunderland, aiming to secure a spot in the first team at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland, known for promoting young talent, have been giving Rigg significant playing time. He has appeared in all four of Sunderland’s Championship matches so far this season, starting three of them, including a 1-0 victory over Burnley on August 24.

Under new manager Regis Le Bris, Sunderland has seen a turnaround in form and currently leads the Championship standings. According to HITC, Real Madrid are closely monitoring Rigg, viewing him as one of Europe’s top young talents based on his impressive performances.

The Spanish giants believe Rigg could follow a path similar to that of Jude Bellingham, who began his senior career in the Championship before moving to a top club. Borussia Dortmund is also keeping an eye on Rigg’s development as the transfer window approaches.

Before committing to Sunderland, Rigg reportedly turned down offers from Manchester United and Newcastle United. Despite his current commitment, several Premier League clubs are still tracking his progress, and he may follow in the footsteps of players like Archie Gray and Adam Wharton by moving from the Championship to the Premier League.
