JUST IN:"Crystal Palace Boss Reveals Stunning Verdict on Eddie Nketiah’s Debut and Shock Injury Update on Cheick Doucoure

Eddie Nketiah made his debut for Crystal Palace on Saturday in a 2-2 draw against Leicester City. The 25-year-old South Londoner started in attacking midfield alongside Eberechi Eze, with Jean-Philippe Mateta leading the attack.

Nketiah, who arrived from Arsenal in a deal worth up to £30 million on transfer deadline day, took six shots and played the full 90 minutes at Selhurst Park.

“Everyone could see he consistently threatened the opposition’s goal,” said Glasner. “He showed good movement between the lines and made several promising runs with a couple of great finishes. He was a bit unlucky in the second half, but his run and duel with the defender led to Ismaila Sarr winning a penalty in extra time. Overall, it was a solid debut for Eddie.”

Cheick Doucoure made his first Premier League start for the Eagles since a ruptured Achilles sustained in a 2-1 defeat to Luton Town in November 2023. He was substituted at half-time after receiving treatment for two separate issues in the first half.

“His injury was related to his toe,” Glasner noted. “We’ll assess it further tomorrow.”

Two second-half goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta earned the Eagles their second point of the season.
