Everton are in a “state of crisis” and may need something “bad” to happen for things to improve at Goodison Park, according to Neil Moxley.
In the Sunday People’s print edition [15 September], Moxley suggested that the club might need a complete “reboot” to address their troubles.
After another disappointing result where Everton squandered a two-goal lead, this time against Aston Villa, the Toffees are left pointless in the Premier League. Moxley commented, “A reboot might be necessary. Maybe something drastic needs to happen at Goodison Park for the club to reset itself. It’s been building up, and it’s a dire situation.”

The Everton players were visibly disheartened as they approached their supporters at Villa Park after the final whistle, clearly feeling a mix of frustration and disbelief.
Despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first-half brace putting Everton in a promising position, the team faltered as Villa’s Ollie Watkins scored to reduce the deficit. Everton struggled to hold on, and a draw remained out of reach.
Securing their first points of the season is crucial, and Everton’s only consolation is that Southampton, who have yet to score this season, are currently in a similarly dire position.
