Luis Diaz has been in impressive form for Liverpool this season, emerging as one of the most improved players under new manager Arne Slot.

The Colombian has consistently been favored over Cody Gakpo on the left wing, despite Gakpo’s strong performances in limited chances, highlighting Diaz’s importance to Slot.

Jack Grealish recently weighed in on the debate, choosing Diaz over Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli. While Martinelli has shown promise under Mikel Arteta, he has struggled to find his form recently, managing just six Premier League goals last season and two so far this campaign.
When asked to compare the two, Grealish confidently declared Diaz the better player at the moment.
As for Diaz’s future, he has expressed his ambition to compete for the Golden Boot following his strong start. With five league goals already, he aims to close the gap on Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who has been scoring freely since joining the club in summer 2022.
