“It wouldn’t surprise me”- Ben Foster makes big Nottingham Forest prediction that could possibly impact them these season
Nottingham Forest are living the dream as the Premier League season hits its 10-game mark.
The Reds dominated West Ham 3-0 at the City Ground on Saturday, climbing to third place in the table and fueling excitement among supporters for what could be a remarkable season. Chris Wood continued his stellar form, netting his eighth goal in 10 matches, earning praise from Shay Given for his performance.
While Wood’s goals have been a standout, there have been several other key contributors for Forest this season. Gary Neville singled out Elliot Anderson’s display against Leicester, while defenders Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo have been outstanding at the back.
Under manager Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest are keeping their feet on the ground. The coach is focused on improving the team’s performances week by week rather than getting carried away with their current success.

On the Cycling GK podcast, Foster said: “Honestly, top 10 would be an incredible season for Forest. If they can make it into the top eight, that would be world-class. The real test will come after Christmas. Once you hit around 35-40 points, which normally guarantees safety, the handbrake can subconsciously go up. You start thinking, ‘We’re safe, the job is done.’”
He continued: “Forest’s main goal this season, like for many teams, is just to stay in the league. It might not sound exciting, but consolidation is key. So, Christmas will be a big test, but they’ve got great players, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they made it into the top eight.”
Forest’s Next Six Matches Could Define Their Season
There’s nothing wrong with dreaming big for Forest, especially given their struggles over the past two seasons since returning to the Premier League. It’s refreshing for supporters to see their team far from the relegation zone and looking up the table.
However, more challenging fixtures lie ahead. December’s schedule will test Forest with tough matchups against some of the league’s top teams, making it a critical stretch.
After the November international break, Forest will face a more consistent run of matches, which could help them build even more momentum. With points already on the board, they’re in a strong position, and it will be interesting to see if Foster’s predictions hold true as the season progresses.
