BreakingNews: Tottenham Hotspur star transfer exit verdict emerges after what Pep Guardiola said. What is the chances of him staying?

John Wenham isn’t concerned about the potential departure of Tottenham’s “outstanding” Dejan Kulusevski.

The owner of the well-known Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the Swedish winger is content in North London.

Kulusevski has been in impressive form during the 2024/25 season, and after Spurs’ 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on October 30, Pep Guardiola was full of praise. When asked about the 24-year-old, Guardiola simply said, “Everything” (via Hayters TV, 30 October).

Despite the attention Kulusevski is receiving, Wenham, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, isn’t worried about big clubs making a move for him.

“I think he’s very happy at the club,” Wenham said. “It’s natural for him to attract interest. He’s been one of the top five Premier League players this season. He might not always have the goals or assists, but anyone watching Spurs can see how crucial he is. He’s comfortably been our best player this season.”

Wenham continued, “When players perform well, they’ll inevitably get noticed by big clubs. But I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. Guardiola has mentioned Kulusevski positively before, and if anything, it’s a good thing for him. Hopefully, it’ll boost his confidence and help him continue to perform at a high level.”

Kulusevski is becoming one of Spurs’ key players, and manager Ange Postecoglou will no doubt be keen to retain him amid growing transfer speculation.

As reported by JuveLive (27 October), AC Milan, backed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is reportedly interested in signing Kulusevski. However, any potential interest from Manchester City would pose a much bigger challenge for Tottenham, making Postecoglou’s task of keeping Kulusevski even harder.

Tottenham will likely hope that Guardiola’s comments are simply a compliment and not a signal of deeper interest.
