“Tottenham Star Sends Explosive 4-Word Message to Chelsea Rival After Nations League Victory
Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella Put Premier League Rivalry Aside as Spain Seal UEFA Nations League Playoff Spot
Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella put their Premier League rivalry on hold as Spain secured their place in the UEFA Nations League playoffs with a 2-1 victory over Denmark.
The two full-backs faced off on opposite flanks, with Cucurella defending for Spain, while Porro was a creative force down the right side, helping to extend Spain’s lead at the top of their group. The win put them six points clear of Denmark with only one match left in the group stage.
While Cucurella had his work cut out defensively, Porro was instrumental in Spain’s attacking play. After the match, Porro expressed his satisfaction with Spain’s performance and their progression to the next round on Instagram, writing: “Great game from the team to qualify for the next round! Let’s keep going!!”
Porro also took a moment to praise Cucurella, commenting on his post: “You are so good.”
Before the international break, Cucurella had been named Player of the Match in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal, where he helped his team fight back from behind. Reflecting on the match, he said, “We finished in the top four before the international break, so I think we’re starting to do things well. It’s early, and we still have a lot of games ahead, but we need to be proud of the work we’ve done so far.”
Cucurella acknowledged that there is still room for improvement, especially given Chelsea’s recent managerial changes and the integration of new ideas. “We started a new project with a new manager, so we need to be proud of our performances. If we keep working hard, I believe we can achieve good things this season. We have top players and a talented young squad full of ambition,” he added.
While aware it’s still early in the season, Cucurella emphasized the importance of maintaining focus. “We cannot relax. We need to stay ambitious and show on the pitch every week that we deserve to stay in the top four.”
