“I was SPEECHLESS due to Strange thing i noticed immediately i signed at Leicester”- Caleb Okoli claimed he was ‘speechless’ by one thing he has witnessed since joining Leicester City
Caleb Okoli has made a strong impression during his early months at Leicester City after joining the club in the summer of 2024 from Atalanta as part of a nine-player signing spree.
At 23, Okoli has featured 13 times for the Foxes, although he has yet to make an appearance under the new manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy. Despite this, Okoli has performed consistently whenever called upon, fulfilling his lifelong dream of playing in England.
One of the standout aspects of his move to Leicester has been the club’s state-of-the-art training facilities. Although Leicester’s squad may not be the most star-studded, the club’s training ground is exceptional. Van Nistelrooy even compared it to Real Madrid’s, and the Seagrave complex is packed with impressive features.
Okoli, who had previously trained at Atalanta’s Zingonia center, was astonished by what he found at Leicester. Speaking to Cronache di Spogliatoio, he said, “I was shocked when I saw it for the first time. I had thought Zingonia was the best, but when I arrived here, I was speechless. We are on another planet. There are 21 pitches, one of which is covered, two fully equipped gyms, and top-notch recovery facilities, including saunas and swimming pools.”
Okoli is also embracing the challenge of playing in the Premier League, which he describes as being played at a much higher intensity. “It’s true what they say—the Premier League is played at a different level,” he remarked. “The athleticism is incredible, and the technical level is equally impressive.”
Looking ahead, Okoli is particularly excited about the prospect of facing Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, with whom he will likely come up against in their match at the end of December. “I can’t wait to face Haaland,” Okoli said. “Every game is a chance to test myself against world-class players, and I can never afford to let my guard down.”
