“I think if Leeds want to stay where they are, then I’d say they have to go out and sign this experience Ace to make them UNSTOPPABLE in promotion race”- Leeds United told the Secret Transfer that will make them Unstoppable in the Promotion Race
Former Leeds United defender Michael Gray believes that the key factor in whether Leeds return to the Premier League or miss out on promotion again could be the acquisition of a new goalkeeper this month.
Despite this, Leeds seem to have no plans to bring in a new number one in January, with the club not expected to make significant moves in the transfer market. Any potential signings are likely to focus on strengthening the defense or attack.
However, following Illan Meslier’s poor performance in Leeds’ recent Championship match against Hull City, Gray insists that bringing in a new goalkeeper is crucial for transforming Leeds into a nearly unstoppable force.
When asked about the club’s transfer needs this month, Gray told Betfred, “A goalkeeper. 100%. Illan Meslier made mistakes in the Premier League, and I think he’s making those mistakes again.
“If Leeds want to maintain their position, they must go out and sign an experienced goalkeeper. If they do that, Leeds will be hard to stop.”
Meslier was rested for the FA Cup third-round match against Harrogate Town as planned, but he is expected to return to goal for today’s derby against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.
Despite recent criticism, the French goalkeeper remains fully supported by his manager, Daniel Farke, who has no intentions of signing a replacement goalkeeper this month.
