“Awful all season”- Jamie Carragher blasts Wolves player who has been ‘awful all season’, after Chelsea defeat

Wolves suffered a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League, and Jamie Carragher has sharply criticized one player following the loss.

Under Vitor Pereira, Wolves have now endured three consecutive defeats, with each loss seeing them concede three goals. Their performance against Chelsea was largely disappointing, as they failed to seriously challenge Robert Sanchez in goal.

Matheus Cunha faced criticism from fans for appearing disengaged during the match, which followed reports suggesting the Brazilian was hesitating to sign a new contract at Molineux. Wolves’ defensive struggles continued, as they conceded two goals from set-pieces, a recurring issue this season.

Goalkeeper Jose Sa, in particular, has come under fire again. Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher did not hold back in his criticism after the game, pointing out Wolves’ disastrous defensive record. With goals from Tosin Adarabioyo and Noni Madueke, Wolves have now conceded 19 goals from set-pieces, which Carragher called “truly abysmal.”

Carragher singled out Sa for criticism, especially for his positioning during Madueke’s goal, saying: “The goalkeeper has been awful all season for Wolves. He finds himself in no man’s land.”

Wolves’ defensive woes have been a team-wide issue, but the poor performances from both of their goalkeepers have been glaring. While Sa has shown moments of quality, his inconsistency has been troubling. Sam Johnstone, brought in for £10 million to challenge Sa, has also failed to meet expectations.

This situation is proving to be a nightmare for Wolves, and it’s one that could have been avoided.
