"Why won't the referee sent him off the pitch, this is complete injustice"- A frustrated Fabian Hurzeler raised a complaint about an Everton player after the referee's comments during Brighton's defeat to Everton.

“Why won’t the referee sent him off the pitch, this is complete injustice”- A frustrated Fabian Hurzeler raised a complaint about an Everton player after the referee’s comments during Brighton’s defeat to Everton.

Fabian Hurzeler expressed his frustration with what he saw as time-wasting by Everton during Brighton’s 1-0 defeat.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler expressed frustration after Everton’s 1-0 victory at the Amex Stadium, claiming that goalkeeper Jordan Pickford should have been sent off.

The Blues secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season thanks to Iliman Ndiaye’s penalty, despite finishing the match with only 10 players after Orel Mangala was forced off due to injury, having already used all three substitutions.

However, Hurzeler, who is just slightly older than Pickford, was upset that England’s No. 1 goalkeeper, who had already been booked for time-wasting by referee Tim Robinson, was not given a second yellow card.

Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, Hurzeler said, “We played against a very disciplined team. We weren’t sharp enough in the first half and didn’t apply enough pressure. Our positioning in the box wasn’t good, and we faced an opponent who was constantly trying to disrupt the rhythm. It makes things difficult.

“When the referee decides not to send a player off for time-wasting, that speaks volumes. I don’t understand it. If the rules are there, they should be enforced. Referees need to use them.

“We’re honest with each other, self-critical, and that’s why we need to keep working. We’ll analyze what went wrong, focus on what needs to improve, and move forward.”
