Tottenham’s Struggles Continue as Leicester Claim Victory

Tottenham Hotspur suffered another defeat over the weekend, with Leicester City coming from behind to secure a 2-1 win.

Despite taking the lead at halftime, Spurs were unable to hold onto their advantage, as Leicester equalized and then scored the decisive goal early in the second half.

Son Heung-min, the Tottenham captain, has identified “concentration” and “sloppiness” as major contributors to the team’s poor form, which has intensified the pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs have not won a Premier League match since December 15, collecting just five points from a possible 33 in the last month. Sunday’s loss to struggling Leicester marked their sixth defeat in the last seven league games.

While Postecoglou is bearing much of the frustration, reports suggest the club’s hierarchy is still backing him, acknowledging the impact of injuries on the team’s performance.

Son spoke to the media following the painful defeat, reflecting on the team’s inability to maintain focus. “We can’t just blame tiredness because we had just come out for the second half.

Maybe we were a bit sloppy—it’s not individual mistakes, but a general lack of concentration. In the Premier League, any team can punish us,” Son explained.

He added, “We are blocking out any external noise and focusing on getting as many points as we can.

There are still many games left, and getting experienced players back will help. We just need to concentrate on every game and training session.”

After the latest results, Spurs find themselves in 15th place, eight points above the relegation zone. Their next match is a Europa League home fixture against Elfsborg, followed by a London derby against Brentford on Sunday.
