“Fabrizio Romano Drops Major Hint About Ange Postecoglou’s Future at Tottenham – You Won’t Believe What’s Next
Ange Postecoglou, the former Celtic manager, is facing mounting pressure at Tottenham.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared his insight on Postecoglou’s future at Spurs. The Australian manager is under significant scrutiny following a series of challenges, including an injury crisis and limited transfer activity.
Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on Sunday has raised concerns, bringing the club dangerously close to a relegation battle and fueling discussions about his potential dismissal.
Celtic fans hold Postecoglou in high regard after his successful two-year tenure, where he won five out of six domestic trophies and introduced an energetic playing style.
However, this approach has not been as effective at Tottenham, particularly in the current challenging circumstances.
Romano reports that, for now, the Spurs board is sticking with Postecoglou. They are reportedly committed to supporting him in the transfer market, should they manage to secure new signings before the window closes.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “At the moment, there’s no decision to sack Postecoglou. The situation is still under control, and the club is prepared to back him with signings in the coming days, but let’s see if they can make it happen.”
After the loss to Leicester, Postecoglou acknowledged the pressure, stating: “As a football manager, I’m judged on results. That’s the reality.
Hopefully, in the next 10 days to two weeks, we’ll have some key players back, which should help the group a lot.”
He continued: “Where we are in the league is not good enough, and that reflects on me and my coaching. However, we still have plenty of opportunities to make an impact in the second half of the season, and I’m confident we will.”
Speaking to Sky Sports, Postecoglou added: “I really believe in this group of players. Even today (Sunday), considering the circumstances, some of their performances were outstanding. That’s all positive, but ultimately, losing another match means the focus is on that.”
He concluded: “I’ve always felt the players are fully committed to what we’re trying to do, and that’s important to me.
Despite the current difficulties, I believe that in these last three months, we can achieve something special, and I think the players believe that too. It’s hard to see that right now, but I’m confident we can turn things around.”
