Alan Myers drops 3-word reaction to talk of Richarlison joining Everton
There are growing rumours suggesting that Everton might be set to re-sign Richarlison in the final hours of the January transfer window.
According to transfer news updates, Everton is close to completing the permanent transfer of Carlos Alcaraz from Brazilian club Flamengo before the deadline.
Fabrizio Romano shared on X that the deal is nearing completion, with a €15m fee plus add-ons, and an obligation to buy that would only be triggered if the player makes a significant number of starts.
In addition, Everton made a move for West Brom midfielder Tom Fellows, offering £15m for the 21-year-old.
However, West Brom is unwilling to let one of their key players leave mid-season, and the move is unlikely to happen now. Fellows may be targeted again in the summer.
There were also reports linking Everton with a move for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, aiming to add more attacking depth, but that pursuit seems to have fallen through.
In response to a fan question about the possibility of Richarlison returning to Everton on X, Sky’s Alan Myers suggested that “anything is possible” on deadline day.
While he acknowledged that Tottenham is facing significant injury issues, he didn’t entirely rule out the idea of the Brazilian leaving, although it would seem unlikely due to Spurs’ need for depth.
A potential return to Goodison Park would likely be well received by Everton fans, as Richarlison enjoyed a popular spell at the club, scoring 53 goals in 152 appearances—an impressive record for a team that often struggled in the Premier League.
Carlo Ancelotti, who managed Richarlison at Everton, was a big fan of the 27-year-old, describing him as a “modern and complete forward” with excellent coordination and aerial ability.
Meanwhile, the signing of Alcaraz looks like an exciting move for Everton, as the 22-year-old is expected to bring energy and quality to the midfield.
While bringing Richarlison back would be an unexpected bonus, it might be a deal to keep an eye on for the summer rather than this transfer window.
