“Who Will Secure Automatic Promotion?” – Brian Deane Makes Jaw-Dropping Prediction on Which Team – Leeds, Sheffield United, or Burnley – Will Claim the Spot. His Thoughts on Leeds United Will Leave You Speechless.

Leeds United fans have plenty to smile about as their team sits five points clear at the top of the Championship table following comeback wins against Sunderland and Sheffield United.

The 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on Monday has pushed Leeds five points ahead of Sheffield United in second place and seven points clear of Burnley in third.

With a goal difference of 50, Leeds’ advantage is even stronger, acting as an extra point.

With 12 games remaining and 36 points still up for grabs, Sheffield United would need to win two more games than Leeds, and Burnley three. Leeds, however, have only lost three Championship matches all season after 34 games.

Ally McCoist believes Leeds are all but promoted, while Darren Bent suggests it would take a “fall off a cliff” for Leeds to miss out on promotion.

Now, Leeds legend Brian Deane has shared his thoughts on the promotion race.

Brian Deane’s Prediction for the Championship Top Two

If Leeds aren’t already close to securing promotion, the position of their remaining 12 opponents should boost their confidence.

Nine of those teams are in the bottom half of the table, with West Brom being the highest-ranked team they face.

Leeds host West Brom on Saturday, and while Alex Mowatt has warned them, Deane is confident Leeds will be promoted. Speaking to FLW, he made his top two prediction:

“I think Leeds are probably a given now. Beating Sheffield United and Sunderland last week really broke the back of it. They just need to keep matching the other teams now,” Deane said.

“Sheffield United aren’t a guaranteed promotion team, but they’ve got enough to secure a top spot. Their form has been inconsistent. It will be close between Burnley and Sheffield United, but I fancy Sheffield United to edge it.”

Leeds’ Next Four Games Before the International Break

Next up for Leeds is a clash with West Brom, where they’ll face fifth place at home. Tony Mowbray has been in charge of West Brom for seven games, winning three, losing three, and drawing one.

After that, Leeds will travel to Portsmouth, host Millwall at Elland Road, and face QPR in London.

A victory against West Brom on Saturday could extend Leeds’ lead at the top, especially with Sheffield United and Burnley facing away trips to QPR and Cardiff City, respectively.
