Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been in exceptional form since joining Bayern Munich, but a release clause in his contract could pave the way for a Premier League return.
Arsenal have been advised to make a move for the 31-year-old England captain to address their striker dilemma.
Kane made the switch to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 and has been in remarkable form, netting 73 goals in 77 appearances for the German club.
However, reports suggest that Kane could make a return to the Premier League, with a £65m release clause in his contract.
Simon Jordan, the former Crystal Palace chairman, has urged Arsenal to seize the opportunity and sign Kane to help solve their striking woes. In a column for Mail Online, Jordan stated,
“If Arsenal fans are feeling disheartened at the end of the season, having again finished as Premier League runners-up—something they should be disappointed with—I would suggest that signing Kane would be the perfect solution.”
He added, “It may seem like a far-fetched idea, depending on how strong Kane’s loyalty to Tottenham is, but professionally, it makes sense for everyone involved.
Arsenal would secure a proven goalscorer to take them to the next level, while Kane would have the best chance to win a league title in England and break Alan Shearer’s record as the Premier League’s all-time top scorer.”
Jordan believes both of these achievements would offer Kane a more meaningful legacy than a Bundesliga title, which Bayern Munich often wins.
He also pointed out that Kane would be better off joining Arsenal, especially considering Tottenham’s need for a £300m investment to become serious contenders—something unlikely to happen under their current ownership.
While Kane may not offer much in terms of future resale value, Jordan noted that winning the Premier League would bring significant commercial rewards for Arsenal that could offset this concern.
Furthermore, he mentioned that transfers between Spurs and Arsenal have happened before, and Kane’s addition would undoubtedly strengthen the Gunners’ bid for the Premier League title.
