Everton manager David Moyes conceded that “Wolves were the better side” after their 1-1 draw at Molineux.
Jack Harrison put Everton ahead just after the half-hour mark with a shot that deflected off Matt Doherty, marking his first goal of the season.
However, the lead didn’t last long as Marshall Munetsi netted his first goal for Wolves, firing past Jordan Pickford to level the score before halftime.
Both teams struggled to find a breakthrough in the second half, and the match ended all square.
The draw saw Wolves move six points clear of the relegation zone, while Everton climbed into 14th place.
Moyes was satisfied with the point, despite not being pleased with his team’s performance. He said: “I’m really pleased with the point. I don’t think we played our best tonight, but we showed resilience. I don’t think Wolves created too many chances, but they were the better side. We stuck at it, but I knew it would be a tough game because of what Wolves are fighting for, staying in the Premier League.
“They’re battling hard for points, just as we have been in recent games at Goodison Park.
I knew how tough it would be. Overall, Wolves played well, and while we didn’t give up too many chances, they took the one they had.”
Next up for Wolves is a clash with bottom club Southampton, as they look to extend the gap between 17th place and the relegation zone.
