Harrison joined Everton on loan in the summer of 2023 after Leeds’ relegation, and has since expressed little interest in returning to Leeds, pushing instead for a permanent move to Everton. However, that move now seems unlikely.
Leeds, meanwhile, are focused on securing promotion back to the Premier League, and there have been suggestions that if they achieve that, they could find a way to reintroduce Harrison into the squad.
Nevertheless, this could be a controversial move, as many fans have not forgiven him for leaving the club so soon after relegation.
Harrison has also been linked to Major League Soccer, with an unnamed club reportedly holding initial talks with his representatives about a potential summer move.
However, his wage demands could complicate any transfer, making a return to Leeds a more likely option.
Although Harrison is not popular with Leeds fans, former player David Prutton believes he could still prove valuable to the team, especially if they return to the Premier League.
Prutton sees Harrison’s work ethic as an asset and recalls that he was once a well-liked member of the squad.
“I think if Jack came back to Leeds, he’d be a useful, experienced addition to a squad that will need to strengthen,” Prutton said. “He’s more workmanlike, which is meant as a compliment.
He’s a good player and a great part of what Leeds has been in the past.”
In the wake of Leeds’ 2023 relegation, several players, including Harrison, left the club on loan.
While some, like Brenden Aaronson, have worked hard to win back fans, many are still unwilling to forgive those who left the team to face the challenges of the Championship.
