Kris Boyd loose it on Celtic and Sutton, as he mock Brendan and his troops amid Light Blues claim three points at Celtic Park
It was a day of celebration for Kris Boyd and the travelling Rangers fans as they watched their team secure a crucial victory at Celtic Park.
The cheeky Boyd couldn’t resist teasing Chris Sutton, offering him a “cuddle” in the car park after watching Celtic’s defeat to Rangers. This playful jab was a direct response to Sutton’s earlier post-match offer of a hug to console Boyd, after Rangers had suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss to Celtic back in January.
However, the tables were turned this time around after Hamza Igamane’s late winner sealed the points for the Light Blues, leaving Sutton visibly frustrated. On Sky Sports, he pointed to the absence of Celtic captain Callum McGregor as a major factor in their poor performance.
“In the first half, they never really found their rhythm in the middle,” Sutton said. “But I have to say, Nawrocki had a great game. You just didn’t see Celtic at their best.
Rangers go away with all three points, but if you’re in that Rangers dressing room, how do you feel? You’ve beaten Celtic twice, but you’re not winning the league. It’s not a hollow victory, but they play when the pressure isn’t really there.”
He continued, “Celtic hurt themselves today. McGregor is the one who organizes, thinks, and makes everything look easy. No disrespect to Arne Engels, but he has to reach that level.”
Boyd responded with a grin, “You’ve summed it up perfectly, Chris. Don’t rush off, though, because I want that cuddle in the car park.”
Sutton chuckled but tried to move on from the defeat, but Boyd wasn’t done. As the segment wrapped up, he cheekily signed off with, “See you soon for that cuddle.”
Host Eilidh Barbour quickly cut to a break, quipping, “I’ll let you go and get ready for your cuddle!”
